DL Hughley Responds To Marlon Wayans Dissing VladTV
DL Hughley has now chimed in on how he feels about Marlon Wayans going against VladTV in the recent weeks. According to DL, he has relationships with both sides and understands that Wayans has the right to place whatever value he’d like for the use of his image.
DL Hughley appears to have a response to those who criticize him being on VladTV. During a new interview with the hip-hop platform, Hughley would explain why his audience will never see him on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast.

MARLON WAYANS RISE TO FAME
Marlon began his career in the 1980s with minor roles in television shows like “The Cosby Show” and films like *I’m Gonna Git You Sucka*, which was directed by his brother Keenen Ivory Wayans. He became a household name through his role in the 1990s sketch comedy series *In Living Color*, created by Keenen Ivory. Marlon’s breakout role came when he and his brother Shawn co-created and starred in the WB sitcom *The Wayans Bros.* (1995-1999), which showcased their comedic chemistry and unique humor.

DJ Vlad asked DL Hughley about Katt Williams’ comment calling him “the greatest king of comedy” from the original Kings of Comedy lineup. Hughley expressed gratitude and humility, recognizing it as a significant compliment from someone he deeply respects. Reflecting on his Kings of Comedy days, Hughley described it as a cherished memory rather than a current identity, noting that he now relates to it like a piece of the past, similar to being a high school football star.
One of Hughley’s most significant career milestones came in 2000, when he was featured in The Original Kings of Comedy, a comedy tour and subsequent Spike Lee-directed film that showcased four of the biggest names in Black stand-up: Hughley, Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer, and Bernie Mac. The tour was a massive success and cemented Hughley’s status as one of the top comedians in the country.
