Diddy Apologizes for Assaulting Cassie as Viral Footage Emerges

Diddy has publicly apologized for his actions after disturbing footage of him assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie surfaced, describing the incident as his “rock bottom.”

On Friday, CNN obtained and released graphic footage from 2016 showing the Bad Boy Records founder chasing Cassie through a hotel hallway, pulling her to the ground, kicking her, and attempting to drag her back to his room. The video quickly went viral, sparking widespread outrage on social media and among peers.

In response, Diddy took to Instagram to issue a formal apology. In his video statement, he admits to his actions, expresses remorse, and explains that he has sought professional help since the incident. “Reflecting on the darkest times in your life is incredibly difficult, but necessary,” he began. “I was in a terrible place—I hit rock bottom—but that’s no excuse. My behavior in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility. I was disgusted with myself then and I am disgusted now. I’ve sought therapy and rehab, and asked for God’s mercy and grace. I am deeply sorry. I am committed to becoming a better man every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”

Cassie’s Lawyer Responds to Viral Footage

Cassie has not yet commented directly on the footage, but her lawyer, Douglas H. Wigdor, released a statement the day it emerged. “The gut-wrenching video further confirms Mr. Combs’ disturbing and predatory behavior,” he said. “Words cannot express the courage and fortitude Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward.”
