Dawn Richard Sues Diddy & Alleges Witnessing Cassie & Kim Porter Abused
Dawn Richard, Former Danity Kane Member, Sues Diddy for Sexual Abuse and Assault — Alleges She Witnessed Violent Abuse Towards Cassie and Kim Porter
Diddy is facing a lawsuit from Dawn Richard, a former member of Danity Kane, who claims he sexually abused her and subjected her to abusive behavior during her time on his reality TV show, *Making The Band*. Richard also alleges she witnessed Diddy’s violent abuse towards his former partners, Kim Porter and Cassie.
Details from the Lawsuit
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Richard states that she became entangled in Diddy’s manipulative web while participating in his 2004 MTV show, *Making The Band*. She alleges that the Bad Boy Records CEO exploited her dreams of a successful singing career to coerce her into complying with his disturbing demands.
Richard claims that during on-set auditions, Diddy frequently berated female contestants, calling them “fat,” “ugly,” “bitches,” and “hoes.” She says Diddy appeared to target her specifically because of her youth and eagerness to work with a high-profile figure.
In 2005, Richard recalls witnessing Kim Porter, another of Diddy’s former girlfriends, leaving a music studio in tears with visible injuries on her face. This incident made her realize the extent of Diddy’s violent tendencies and heightened her fear for her own safety.
Richard further alleges that in 2006, she was present when Diddy met Cassie for the first time, describing his behavior as predatory. In 2009, she claims she personally witnessed Diddy — under the influence of drugs — violently assault Cassie, including throwing her against a wall, choking her, and dragging her up a staircase at his Los Angeles home.
THE LAWSUIT INCLUDES KALENNA HAPER OF DIDDY-DIRTY MONEY
The lawsuit details further violent episodes, including one instance where Diddy allegedly threw a hot pan of eggs at Cassie while yelling, “I’ve been asking you for my s**t; I can’t stand you, bitch, you never do it right!” Richard also recalls Diddy physically attacking Cassie on multiple occasions, including punching her and strangling her inside his mansion.
Richard claims that she, along with other individuals including her Diddy-Dirty Money bandmate Kalenna Harper, tried to support Cassie and encouraged her to leave Diddy. However, when Diddy discovered these conversations, he allegedly threatened them, saying, “Y’all bitches don’t get in my relationship,” and warning, “I end artists … I shelve careers … You could be missing … You bitches want to die today.”
Richard’s Personal Experiences of Abuse
Richard states that she was also subjected to Diddy’s abuse, including being forced to rehearse for 48 hours straight without sleep, leading to extreme weight loss, dehydration, and fatigue. She also suffered severe rashes from the grueling conditions.
The lawsuit describes a particularly disturbing incident where Diddy summoned Richard to his Miami home and greeted her wearing only underwear. When she asked him to put on clothes, Diddy refused and yelled, “This is my f**king house!”
Richard alleges Diddy’s behavior towards her worsened between 2009 and 2011, including one occasion where he barged into her dressing room while she was naked at his recording studio and inappropriately touched her breasts and buttocks.
She also recounts a terrifying episode where Diddy locked her inside a car with heavily tinted windows for two hours while she screamed for help, even calling her father for assistance. Her father reportedly traveled from Baltimore to New York to confront Diddy, threatening to go to the police. However, Diddy allegedly warned him, “Think about your daughter” and “think about your daughter’s career.”
Richard’s allegations highlight a pattern of control, abuse, and manipulation by Diddy, reflecting a deeply troubling environment behind the scenes of the music industry.
