Clipse Announce Reunion Album “Let God Sort Em Out”
Clipse, the iconic duo of Pusha T and No Malice, have officially announced that their long-awaited reunion album, Let God Sort Em Out, will be released later this year. The news was confirmed during an interview with Rolling Stone’s Andre Gee, where the pair shared exclusive details about the album while playing the Pharrell-produced tracks in the studio.
Throughout the interview, Rolling Stone unveiled several intriguing details about the project. Notably, the album features a long-pursued guest appearance by Nas, a collaboration Pusha T had been trying to secure for years. This revelation follows hints Pusha T dropped during a recent appearance on the Ghetto Runways podcast. Additionally, the album is uniquely marked by a recurring sample of a woman’s voice saying, “this is culturally inappropriate,” which was initially intended to be a watermark for advance copies but ended up being incorporated throughout the album due to its distinctive effect.
Earlier this year, Clipse debuted the first track from the album, “Birds Don’t Sing.” In the song, Pusha T reflects on his relationship with his mother, rapping, “I loved you met Nige’, hate that he won’t remember you,” while No Malice turns his focus to their father, rapping, “I can hear your voice now, I can feel your presence/Askin’ ‘Should I rap again?,’ you gave me your blessing.” During the Rolling Stone interview, Pusha T opened up about the loss of their parents, who passed away within three months of each other. “It’s been tough,” he said. “You never really get used to it. The only soothing feeling I get is knowing we were all in a good place — my mom, my dad, myself. But that’s about it.”
The track “Birds Don’t Sing” was also featured during Louis Vuitton’s Paris Fashion Week show in June, giving fans an early taste of what’s to come from the highly anticipated album.
