Claressa Shields Calls Out Laila Ali With $15 Million Offer For Superfight

Claressa Shields Challenges Laila Ali With $15 Million On The Table For Boxing Superfight

Undisputed women’s boxing champion Claressa Shields has reignited interest in a potential boxing mega-fight by officially calling out the legendary and undefeated Laila Ali — and she’s bringing $15 million to the table to make it happen.

“Laila, I’m here with my team. I got some great news for you. We got the $15 million!” Shields said in a message captured by TMZ Sports. “Let’s make this fight happen. The best versus the best. The greats versus the greats. The GWOAT versus Muhammad Ali’s daughter, Laila Ali. Let’s make it happen.”

The Road To Shields vs. Ali

This public challenge comes shortly after Laila Ali responded to growing speculation about her potential return to the ring. Ali made it clear that she wouldn’t even consider fighting again unless $15 to $20 million was guaranteed.

“Unless somebody calls me and says they have it, we’re not even going to have this conversation,” Ali said during an interview with Fight Hub TV. “I’m not trying to come back and fight, but if somebody were to offer that kind of money, I’d actually have to think about it.”

Legacy On The Line: GWOAT vs. Ali

Laila Ali, who retired undefeated with a 24-0 record between 1997 and 2007, is the daughter of the late, great Muhammad Ali. Throughout her career, she captured multiple world titles, including the WBC, WIBA, IWBF, and IBA female super middleweight titles and the IWBF light heavyweight title.

On the other hand, Claressa Shields (16-0) has made history as the only fighter — male or female — to become an undisputed champion in three different weight divisions in the modern four-belt era. A two-time Olympic gold medalist, Shields is widely recognized as the GWOAT (Greatest Woman of All Time) in boxing.

Is The Superfight Possible?

Despite a 17-year age gap, momentum is building around this possible showdown, fueled by serious financial offers and massive fan interest. Shields has consistently demonstrated that she’s willing to face anyone to solidify her legacy. Now, with the proposed $15 million purse on the table, it’s up to Laila Ali to decide if she’s ready to return for what would undoubtedly be one of the most historic fights in women’s boxing.
