CHXXX Bridges Lagos & Toronto with AfroNadia: A New Era for Afrobeat

CHXXX (pronounced Chucks) is not your average artist. Born in Lagos, Nigeria, and now making waves in Toronto, he represents a new generation of Afrobeat creators blending heritage, innovation, and heart. In a recent interview with WorldWide Entertainment TV, CHXXX opened up about his bold new project AfroNadia, the cultural duality that shapes his sound, and his mission to build community through music.

A Sonic Diary of the Immigrant Experience

At the center of CHXXX’s latest creative chapter is AfroNadia, a globally inspired album that reflects both his African roots and Canadian reality. Describing the project as a “sonic diary”, CHXXX said the album is deeply personal, tracing his journey as an immigrant and celebrating the power of identity.

“It’s more than music — it’s my life. I’m telling a story that a lot of people can relate to, especially those navigating two cultures,” he shared.

Collaborating Across Borders: Stanley Enow & Simon Jefferson

The album features major collaborations, including Stanley Ebai Enow, the first Cameroonian artist to win Best New Act at the MTV Africa Music Awards, and acclaimed saxophonist Simon Jefferson. Together, they bring a rich blend of live instrumentation and Afrobeat rhythm, adding both warmth and soul to every track.

“Live music is essential,” CHXXX said. “It adds emotion and a human connection that digital beats can’t always give you.”

Toronto’s Growing Afrobeat Movement

Though Toronto is known for superstars like Drake and The Weeknd, CHXXX believes the city is still growing when it comes to fully supporting local Afrobeat and diaspora artists.

“There’s so much talent in Toronto — but we need more grassroots support. More spaces. More unity. We have to build that system ourselves.”

CHXXX praised the Afro-Caribbean and African community in Toronto for its resilience and creativity, while also calling for more collaboration and visibility for underground and emerging artists.

A Message Rooted in Unity, Culture & Faith

Throughout the interview, CHXXX remained grounded in his core values: faith, community, and cultural pride.

“It’s just about unity and community,” he said. “I want to uplift people through my music. And I want you to know that I love God — He’s the reason I’m even here telling my story.”

With AfroNadia, CHXXX is not just making music — he’s making a movement. One that honors tradition, celebrates migration, and pushes Afrobeat into new spaces.

What’s Next for CHXXX?

With more visuals, live performances, and future collaborations in the pipeline, CHXXX is positioning himself as one of the most dynamic voices in the global Afrobeat scene.

His goal?
To bring AfroNadia to listeners across continents — and to bridge the sound between Africa and the diaspora in ways we haven’t heard before.
