Toronto, ON — Black Artists’ Networks in Dialogue (BAND) Gallery recently announced Launch & Grow, an inspiring fundraising exhibition featuring works of art from over 25 established and emerging artists from Canada and abroad. The innovative exhibition features exceptional works by acclaimed and promising artists, including Vanley Burke, Christina Leslie, Chiedza Pasipanodya, Moridja Kitenge Banza, Lamar Robillard, Michaëlle Sergile, and Moses Salihou. Launch & Grow has been a summer success and is extending into September 2025.  The exhibition is currently on display at.  BAND’s pop-up gallery space, 401 Richmond Street West, Suite 128.

“Launch & Grow” is a unique exhibition that invites the public to play a meaningful role in closing out BAND’s ambitious capital campaign.  The exciting exhibition is aimed at renovating BAND’s historic 19th-century Victorian house in Parkdale into an accessible, permanent house museum for Black art and culture in Canada.  Art lovers and supporters attending the exhibition can directly contribute to this vision through the purchase of artwork. Each sale supports both the artists and BAND’s mission.

“Launch & Grow” transforms the gallery into a space where artistic expression gathers our communities     around shared aspirations. Here, collectors become true patrons, underwriting a legacy devoted to nurturing Black artists.

Black Artists’ Networks in Dialogue (BAND) Gallery is a Toronto-based registered charity.   Founded in 2010, by Karen Carter, Director, Museums and Heritage Services at City of Toronto, Dr. Julie Crooks, Curator, Arts of Global Africa and the Diaspora at the AGO (Art Gallery of Ontario), Maxine Bailey, Executive Director of the CFC (Canadian Film Center) and Karen Tyrell, Communication Specialist-Film & Television.  BAND is   committed to supporting, documenting, and exhibiting the contributions of Black artists from Canada and beyond.  BAND offers mentorship, exhibitions, live performances, and meaningful public dialogues to engage and inspire communities.
