Bianca Belair Talks Evolution Of WWE Women’s Wrestling

WWE superstar Bianca Belair recently appeared on ESPN’s First Take, sitting down with Stephen A. Smith, Shannon Sharpe, and Molly Qerim to discuss her journey in WWE, the current state of women’s wrestling, and what lies ahead after the shocking breakup of the Big 3 faction.

Reflecting on Her WWE Journey

During the interview, Belair spoke about her rise through the ranks in WWE, from her beginnings in NXT to becoming one of the most dominant and decorated superstars on the main roster. She highlighted the challenges she faced breaking into the industry and how she continues to push the boundaries as one of the top female competitors.

MEN Supporting Woman’s Wrestling In WWE

Belair said the biggest male supporters of her career is firstly her father followed by her fellow wrestler Montez Ford, who is her real life husband. She said she “remembered when I won at WrestleMania he tried to jump the barricade,” speaking on her father.

She admitted to meeting Montez Ford during his rise in the WWE. “I get to to what I love with the person I love,” says the EST.

The State of Women’s Wrestling

Belair also weighed in on the evolution of women’s wrestling, praising the talent and depth of the division while emphasizing the need for continued progress. Belair notes that women are now “main eventing WrestleManias, RAWs, Smackdowns, and stealing the show.” She furthered this by saying “we just need those opportunities” in terms of making women an integral part of the roster and brand.

People are now saying that was a great match instead of “that was a great match for a woman.” She is currently in a feud with her former tag champs Naomi and Jade Cargill.

She talked about her athletic background in other sports before making the jump to professional wrestling. Another athlete that made the transition from the Olympics to sports entertainment in Mark Henry was the Hall of Famer that caught wind of her talents being transferable to WWE.

With her charisma, in-ring talent, and undeniable star power, there’s no doubt that Bianca Belair will continue to be a major force in WWE and beyond. Fans will have to stay tuned to see what’s next for the EST of WWE.
