BET’s Family Business’ Darrin Henson Talks Orlando Duncan

BET’s ‘The Family Business’ Star Darrin Dewitt Henson Discusses Orlando Duncan, Jim Brown, & Soul Food

Darrin Dewitt Henson, known for his role in Carl Weber’s hit series *The Family Business*, recently sat down with WorldWide Entertainment TV for an in-depth interview. The interview is now available for streaming on Apple Podcasts and other major platforms.

The Family Business, one of BET’s most popular series, is based on Carl Weber’s best-selling book. Since its premiere in 2018, the show has captivated audiences with its thrilling drama and dynamic characters. BET+ confirmed the series’ renewal for a new season beginning on January 23 of this year, with production updates eagerly awaited by fans.

The show follows the Duncan family, who appear to outsiders as wealthy entrepreneurs running the high-end exotic car dealership, Duncan Motors. However, beneath this facade lies a world of crime and secrecy. The family’s patriarch, L.C. Duncan (played by Ernie Hudson), initially plans to retire and pass the business to his children, aiming to spend more time with his wife, Charlotte (Valarie Pettiford), and their grandchildren. However, his plans are constantly challenged by dangerous encounters with drug dealers, corrupt politicians, and the Mafia.

In the exclusive interview, Darrin Henson reflects on his journey with *The Family Business*, his character Orlando Duncan, and his past experiences in Hollywood. Henson first gained fame through his role as Lem Van Adams on Showtime’s acclaimed series Soul Food. He further solidified his career with standout performances in The Salon alongside Vivica A. Fox, Stomp the Yard, and HBO’s Life Support with Queen Latifah.

Beyond acting, Henson is an accomplished choreographer, having worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry. His collaborations include Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, and ‘N Sync. Henson’s introduction to the entertainment industry came at the age of 14, working with the late legendary Hip-Hop DJ, Scott La Rock of Boogie Down Productions during a Vermont school tour.

One of Henson’s most iconic achievements in dance is choreographing ‘N Sync’s smash hit Bye, Bye, Bye, a routine that remains widely recognized. Additionally, his instructional video “Darrin’s Dance Grooves” achieved massive success, selling over three million copies worldwide.

In his conversation with WWETV, Henson also discussed his motivational book, which aims to inspire individuals to pursue their dreams and improve their lives. As a multi-talented entertainer, he continues to influence both the entertainment and motivational speaking industries.
