Autopsy Confirms Young Scooter’s Death Was Accidental

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office has officially ruled Young Scooter’s death an accident, clarifying that it was not caused by a gunshot wound.

According to the autopsy report released on Tuesday, the 39-year-old rapper died from blood loss after a piece of wood punctured his right thigh. The findings align with initial police statements made after the incident, which occurred as Young Scooter attempted to flee from officers.

Atlanta Police Commander Lt. Andrew Smith previously addressed the situation during a press conference, stating that officers responded to a 911 call about a disturbance at a residence. As police established a perimeter, two men attempted to escape through the back of the house. One of them—later identified as Young Scooter—jumped over multiple fences before sustaining a fatal leg injury. Authorities confirmed that no shots were fired by officers during the chase.

Investigators are still working to determine who made the 911 call that led officers to the scene. The caller, identifying herself as part of the “neighborhood watch,” claimed there had been gunfire and a violent domestic dispute. In the call, she alleged:

“There’s like seven guys that live in this house… these guys are selling drugs in and out of the house… The situation that’s going on right now, this girl doesn’t have on any clothes — they threw her outside [and] he was fighting the girl… I’m not sure what they were fighting over.”

As the investigation continues, Young Scooter’s publicist, Abesi Manyando, stated on Monday that the rapper’s family is “completely devastated” and awaiting further details to fully understand the circumstances of his death.
