ASAP Rocky Breaks Silence on Drake Feud
It looks like these two have some lingering “F***in’ Problems.”
ASAP Rocky recently opened up about his rumored beef with Drake in a new Billboard cover story. The feature spans his diverse pursuits, from music and fashion to film, all while highlighting his role as a family man with Rihanna and their kids. Naturally, Billboard couldn’t resist asking him about the tension between Rocky and Drake, particularly in the wake of shots fired by Kendrick Lamar’s crew at the Toronto rapper earlier this year. While fans might have been craving more insight into the drama, Rocky made it clear that when he reflects on 2024, this feud will be nothing more than a trivial memory.
“You gotta understand, some nas been taking shots for years,” Rocky said, addressing the situation. “But I’m not caught up in that. I got bigger fish to fry than some py boys. There’s real beef out here. It’s real. Nas getting clipped and blitzed every day. Nas sniping n*as every day. That little kitty st ain’t nothing.”
ASAP ROCKY GIVES HIS VIEWPOINT OF THE BEEF
From ASAP Rocky‘s perspective, the back-and-forth with Drake on tracks like Future and Metro Boomin’s “Show of Hands” and Drizzy’s own “Family Matters” is just part of the game—nothing serious. They’re jabs exchanged between two rappers who don’t vibe with each other, but it’s unlikely to erupt into an all-out war. Even though Rocky’s upcoming album Don’t Be Dumb might include more disses, it’s clear the conflict isn’t a central theme, just part of the usual lyrical sparring in hip-hop.
For those unfamiliar, the origins of Rocky and Drake’s beef could trace back to when Rocky started dating Rihanna, who is now his wife. The feud seems more like a petty clash over shared romantic history and questions about who’s dropping better music. It’s doubtful that this rivalry will escalate into anything significant. However, with Drake’s recent verse on Young Thug and 21 Savage’s “It’s Up,” it seems there might still be more to the story. If things do escalate, though, it’s unlikely to match the intensity of either rapper’s issues with Kendrick Lamar. Neither Rocky nor Drake appears to want to take it that far.
