ASAP Relli Forwards With Civil Lawsuit After ASAP Rocky’s Acquittal
ASAP Rocky may have cleared his name in court, but ASAP Relli isn’t backing down. The rapper is pressing forward with a civil lawsuit against Rocky, despite the latter being acquitted of felony charges.
Relli initially pursued criminal charges, accusing Rocky of assault, but the case ended in Rocky’s favor, with a not-guilty verdict on two felony counts. However, Relli remains undeterred. His civil lawsuit, which has been in the works since 2021, is now moving ahead.
According to Rolling Stone, Relli received the go-ahead to proceed with his lawsuit on Wednesday. The case had been on hold pending the criminal trial’s outcome, but with Rocky’s acquittal, Relli is ready to move forward. The legal battle has been contentious, with Relli frequently clashing with Rocky’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, both in and out of court.
REASONING BEHIND THE LAWSUIT?

Relli also addressed the backlash he’s received on social media following Rocky’s acquittal. He took to Instagram to dismiss critics who mocked him for seeking justice.
“Gossiping is a form of entertainment for people who have no meaningful goals or purpose in life,” Relli wrote. “Hate me, bring shame to my name, say bad things about me—I don’t care. Your existence doesn’t add any value to my life.”
Meanwhile, Relli’s attorney, Melissa Mikail, remains confident in their case. “The standard in a criminal case is much higher than the preponderance of the evidence standard in a civil matter,” she explained. “We still believe our claims have merit and intend on fully litigating them.”
Rocky, on the other hand, has been riding a wave of support since his acquittal, earning praise from fans and fellow celebrities. He’s also been teasing the release of his highly anticipated album, DON’T BE DUMB. Whether this lawsuit affects his rollout remains to be seen.
