Nicki Minaj Flashes Trump Gold Card, Sparks Citizenship Debate

Nicki Minaj Shows Trump Gold Card Amid Citizenship Speculation

Nicki Minaj is once again at the center of political controversy after posting what appeared to be a Trump Gold Card, reigniting debate around her immigration status and outspoken support for Donald Trump.

The post surfaced amid renewed backlash over Minaj’s recent political alignment, prompting social media users to resurface older statements in which she discussed immigrating to the United States as a child.

Old Statements Resurface

In a Facebook post from 2018, Minaj revealed that she entered the U.S. without legal status at age five, while condemning family separations at the border.

“I came to this country as an illegal immigrant @ 5 years old,” she wrote at the time. “I can’t imagine the horror of being in a strange place & having my parents stripped away from me… Please stop this.”

More recently, Minaj acknowledged on TikTok Live in 2024 that she was not a U.S. citizen, explaining that she was born in Trinidad and Tobago and had lived in the United States for decades.

“You would think with the millions of dollars I’ve paid in taxes, I would have been given an honorary citizenship by now,” she said at the time.

The Trump Gold Card Post

Speculation intensified after Minaj shared a photo on X (formerly Twitter) showing what appeared to be a Trump Gold Card, a program launched in December 2025 that allows eligible applicants to receive expedited lawful permanent resident status under EB-1 or EB-2 visa pathways in exchange for a $1 million non-refundable contribution to the U.S. Treasury.

“Welp,” Minaj captioned the post, later adding that she was “finalising that citizenship paperwork” and claiming the card came “free of charge.”

No official confirmation has been released regarding her immigration status or whether the card shown represents a completed or symbolic application.

Political Alignment in the Spotlight

Minaj’s post came just one day after she appeared at the Trump Accounts Summit in Washington, D.C., where she publicly praised the president’s new investment account initiative for U.S.-born children.

“I am probably the president’s No. 1 fan, and that’s not going to change,” she told the audience. “The hate doesn’t affect me—it motivates me.”

Her remarks, combined with the Gold Card post, have further polarized fans and critics, intensifying debate around celebrity politics, immigration narratives, and public accountability.

Despite the controversy, Minaj has remained defiant, continuing to frame her political support as a matter of personal conviction rather than public approval.
