Trump Calls Nicki Minaj the GOAT of Female Rap at Treasury Summit
Donald Trump publicly praised Nicki Minaj on Wednesday, calling her the “greatest and most successful female rapper in history” during a Treasury Department–hosted summit in Washington, D.C.
Minaj appeared alongside the president to promote his new “Trump Accounts” initiative and pledged a six-figure contribution to the program.
During his remarks, Trump acknowledged both Minaj’s cultural impact and the backlash she has faced for her political views.
“She’s taken a lot of heat because her community isn’t necessarily a Trump fan,” Trump said. “But I just think she’s great.”
Earlier in the event, Minaj embraced her support unapologetically.
“I’m probably the president’s number one fan,” she said. “The hate doesn’t affect me—it motivates me.”
She also criticized what she described as coordinated smear campaigns against Trump, saying, “God is protecting him.”
Growing Political Spotlight

The appearance continues a pattern of increasingly visible political alignment from Minaj. Last month, she attended Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest, where she praised Trump and criticized Democratic leaders, including California Governor Gavin Newsom. Vice President J.D. Vance also publicly praised Minaj at the event.
Minaj has frequently shared pro-Trump views online and previously clashed with media figures, including Don Lemon, over coverage of immigration protests.
Backlash Persists
Her political stance has sparked significant backlash, including a widely criticized Change.org petition calling for her deportation. Despite the controversy, Minaj has remained defiant, framing her support as both personal conviction and resistance to political intimidation.
