Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is continuing to expand his footprint in premium audio storytelling with a powerful new podcast centered on the life and legacy of the late hip-hop icon DMX.

Jackson’s G-Unit Audio has partnered with Narratively and iHeartPodcasts to produce Look Thru My Eyes: Becoming DMX, a narrative podcast series that will explore the formative years of Earl Simmons long before global fame. The series will be hosted by fellow Yonkers native and Ruff Ryders legend Jadakiss and is slated for release later this year across all major podcast platforms according to Deadline.

The podcast traces DMX’s journey from the streets of Yonkers, spotlighting his early battles, hustles, and survival instincts that shaped one of hip-hop’s most raw and influential voices. Through firsthand accounts from family members, childhood friends, collaborators, rivals, and cultural figures, the series aims to paint an intimate portrait of the man behind the legend.

“DMX’s story is bigger than the music — it’s about survival, faith, pain, and purpose,” said Curtis Jackson in a statement. “Look Thru My Eyes: Becoming DMX gives people a chance to understand where X came from, before the fame, through the voices of the people who were really there. This is the story that shaped the legend.”

Executive producers Bruce Miller and Justin Baez—both Yonkers natives with close personal ties to DMX and his family—bring a deeply rooted community perspective to the project. According to the release, their lived experience in the city “grounds the series in the community that shaped him long before fame.”

“DMX’s story is inseparable from Yonkers, and his legacy is the lifeblood of hip hop,” Miller noted.

Veteran audio producer Drew Nelles (Crimetown, The Binge Crimes: Finding Mom’s Killer) will serve as showrunner. Additional executive producers include Noah Rosenberg and Paul Anderson of Workhorse Media, with Anderson negotiating the deal on behalf of Jackson and Narratively in partnership with IAG. The series is produced by Narratively, G-Unit Audio, Blue Light Media, and 1982 Media, in association with Workhorse Media.

The DMX podcast adds to Jackson’s growing slate of successful nonfiction projects. His recent Sean Combs: The Reckoning debuted at No. 1 on Netflix, drawing an estimated 22 million views in its opening weekend. Jackson also produced the hit iHeartPodcasts series Surviving El Chapo: The Twins Who Brought Down a Drug Lord.

Looking ahead, Deadline recently reported that Jackson’s G-Unit Film & Television is developing a new A&E true-crime series, Gang Wars (working title), which will explore America’s most infamous gang rivalries. The project joins several others currently in development, including continued expansion of the Power Universe franchise on Starz.

Jackson is represented by IAG and attorney Steve Savva.
