Remy Ma Shuts Down Rumor She Was Involved in Claressa Shields Fight

A viral clip of boxing champion Claressa Shields recently sparked a wave of online speculation after she was seen going on a heated rant about physically confronting someone. Many social media users began theorizing that the target of her anger was none other than Remy Ma.

The speculation isn’t entirely out of the blue. The “Conceited” rapper and the undefeated boxer have had tension in the past. In 2023, Remy publicly accused her husband, Papoose, of cheating on her with Shields. The Brooklyn MC clapped back by claiming Remy had been unfaithful with Eazy The Block Captain, turning the situation into a messy public back-and-forth.

Since then, both have seemingly moved on — Remy and Pap are now in separate relationships — but old drama resurfaced when the footage of Shields’ rant hit social media earlier this week.

Claressa Shields’ Viral Rant

In the clip, originally shared by The Neighborhood Talk, Shields can be heard saying:

“You don’t even know what smoke is, baby. I’m from Flint, baby, quit playing with me. I ran up on that h*e. She wanna talk about that sh*t, fight me. I wanted to see what it was like with that face-to-face conversation because that’s what I’m about.”

She continued:

“You wanna do all that tweeting, baby? I’m about this. You’re right, we do just need to fight. We do. Yes, come to 54 so I can show you what’s up… I ain’t even mean to put my hands on that girl. Lord, I have to catch myself, but she started putting her hand on my face… You’re mad that you met your match, and that’s OK, cause I’m gonna give you what you want every time. Now what?”

With the aggressive tone and history between the two women, it didn’t take long for the internet to connect the dots — or at least try to.

Remy Ma Responds

Remy wasted no time addressing the rumors. Jumping on Instagram, she laughed off the claims and made it clear she wasn’t the person Shields was talking about.

“[Laughing emojis] Imagine the f*ck that. Definitely NOT tawkin bout me… cuz umm yeah,” she wrote.

It turns out the rant wasn’t recent and had nothing to do with Remy at all. According to Complex, Shields’ comments were actually from April 2024, after a tense altercation with fellow boxer Alycia Baumgardner in Las Vegas.
