Hulk Hogan’s Cause of Death Revealed: WWE Legend Battled Heart Disease and Leukemia

Hulk Hogan’s Cause of Death Officially Confirmed

Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan has passed away at the age of 71, with official medical records now confirming the cause of his death.

According to the Pinellas County Forensic Science Center, Hogan — born Terry Gene Bollea — died on July 24 from an acute myocardial infarction, commonly referred to as a heart attack. This condition occurs when blood flow to the heart is severely restricted, leading to tissue damage.

The report also disclosed that Hogan had a long-standing history of atrial fibrillation (AFib), a type of irregular heartbeat that can lead to severe cardiovascular complications. Additionally, he had been living with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), a type of blood cancer — a fact that had not been publicly revealed before his passing.

The forensic center told Page Six that cremation has been requested, but the timing remains unspecified.

Emergency services were called to Hogan’s Clearwater, Florida residence on the morning of his death. Clearwater police confirmed that first responders were dispatched to a medical emergency at approximately 10 a.m. Hogan was transported to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:17 a.m.

Authorities have ruled out any foul play, according to Major Nate Burnside.

Family Shares Emotional Tributes

Hogan’s wife, Sky Hogan, paid tribute on Instagram with a touching photo of the couple. “I wasn’t ready for this… and my heart is in pieces,” she wrote. “He had been dealing with health issues, but I truly believed we would overcome them.”

She added, “Despite his growing physical discomfort, he did everything he could to show up, sign autographs, take photos, and connect with the people who supported him. You meant everything to him.”

His daughter, Brooke Hogan, also spoke out. While she admitted to being estranged from her father in recent years, she reflected on a long journey filled with medical challenges. “We went through almost 25 surgeries together. Then suddenly, I was no longer included… it felt like I couldn’t reach him anymore,” she wrote.

The Legacy of Hulk Hogan

Hogan’s influence in professional wrestling is legendary. He was instrumental in turning wrestling into mainstream entertainment during the 1980s and 1990s. He headlined eight WrestleMania events, became a six-time WWE Champion, and later found success in acting and reality television.

As the wrestling world continues to mourn, fans and colleagues remember him not just for his accomplishments in the ring but for the charisma and connection he maintained with fans across generations.
