Jade Cargill Joins Jonathan Majors & Trish Stratus Takes Hollywood

WWE stars are taking over Hollywood as Jade Cargill teams up with Jonathan Majors for a high-stakes action thriller, and Hall of Famer Trish Stratus returns to the big screen with a comedic martial arts film. Wrestling legends are leveling up and proving their star power beyond the ring.

Jade Cargill Makes Hollywood Debut Opposite Jonathan Majors in True Threat

Rising WWE superstar Jade Cargill is set to star in her first major movie role alongside Jonathan Majors in the upcoming action film True Threat, directed by Gerard McMurray (The First Purge).

In the gritty, New York-based thriller, Majors plays Vernon Threat, a Special Forces veteran battling through a 20-story Brooklyn housing complex controlled by the notorious “Apollo Kids” gang—seeking revenge for his son’s tragic death. Cargill will play Meeka, a fierce and commanding gang lieutenant running the red-light district within the complex according to cageside.

This intense role showcases Cargill’s natural charisma and physical presence—skills she honed during her explosive WWE run, including her standout performance at WrestleMania 41. Director McMurray praised her for having “charisma, control, and a magnetic on-camera presence,” making her an ideal choice for the villainous Meeka.

Produced by Southland Stories and backed by industry names like Charlamagne Tha God, True Threat is scheduled to begin filming in fall 2025, with fans eagerly awaiting Cargill’s transformation from wrestling royalty to big-screen baddie.

Trish Stratus Returns in Action-Comedy “Karate Ghost” Filming in Toronto

WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus continues to shine in entertainment, joining the cast of the action-comedy film Karate Ghost, currently filming in Toronto. The film tells the story of a karate-obsessed pageant mom who pushes her daughter’s dreams to the limit—delivering laughs and action in equal measure according to Independent.

Stratus plays Susan Fanshawe, a high-energy mother whose passion for martial arts might just overshadow her daughter’s path. The film co-stars David Koechner (Anchorman) and Steve Howey (Shameless), with WWE broadcaster and actress Cathy Kelley in a supporting role.

Directed by James Mark and written by Larry Bain, Karate Ghost is expected to hit select theaters and streaming platforms in early 2026 through Blue Fox Entertainment Canada.

Stratus has been expanding her acting career since her WWE retirement, with roles in film, television, and as a judge on Canada’s Got Talent. Her return to the screen adds more star power to Karate Ghost and continues her legacy as one of the most versatile entertainers to come out of professional wrestling.

WWE Meets Hollywood: A New Era of Crossovers

Both Jade Cargill and Trish Stratus represent a growing wave of wrestling stars transitioning into film roles. Whether it’s Cargill’s high-intensity villain in True Threat or Stratus’s comedic turn in Karate Ghost, these women are redefining what it means to be multi-hyphenate performers.

Fans of WWE, action cinema, and comedic martial arts films will want to mark their calendars for these highly anticipated releases.
