50 Cent Drops Defamation Lawsuit Against Daphne Joy

50 Cent has reportedly decided to drop the defamation lawsuit he filed against Daphne Joy, the mother of his youngest son, after she accused him of rape earlier this year on Instagram.

50 Cent Seeks to Dismiss Lawsuit

According to a report from TMZ on Tuesday (Sept. 10), 50 Cent recently submitted a motion requesting a judge to dismiss the lawsuit without prejudice. Although the judge has yet to approve the dismissal, the case is expected to be resolved soon. The request to drop the suit follows Daphne’s decision to remove her Instagram post from July, in which she accused the rapper of sexual abuse during their past relationship.

50 Cent and Daphne Joy’s Turbulent Relationship Reaches a Boiling Point

50 Cent and Daphne share a 12-year-old son named Sire. The tension between the two escalated earlier this year when, in March, 50 Cent filed for custody of Sire and publicly mocked Daphne after she was mentioned in a lawsuit filed by producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones against Diddy, where she was named as one of Diddy’s alleged sex workers. In response, Daphne posted a lengthy message on Instagram accusing the G-Unit rapper of rape, claims that 50 Cent strongly denied.

“The disturbing allegations in the sworn pleadings recently filed in a court case related to Daphne Joy, the mother of my twelve-year-old child, have required me to take all necessary legal actions to protect my son Sire,” 50 Cent said in a statement. “The most recent false and baseless accusations by Daphne Joy are clearly in response to my decision to seek sole custody of my son. My son Sire is my main priority, and keeping him in a safe environment is my only focus at this time.”

Following these accusations, 50 Cent filed a defamation lawsuit against Daphne. However, it now appears he is stepping back from pursuing the case further.
